News and Announcements

Welcome to WLE 2026!

We are thrilled to see our returning students as well as welcoming many others! There are some areas we would like to improve after reflecting on 2025:

1. School-provided food: Students must consume food provided by the school in the cafeteria space (or outdoor area for junior high.) If students take food home or to class and that is reported, our entire district could lose its ability to provide three free meals a day  to all students. Please help us by reviewing this topic with your student.

2. We are a gum-free, student cell-phone free campus. SMART watches, if worn, cannot be used for communication. Electronics confiscated for use during the school day are kept in the main office until day's end.

3. Our bus lane must stay clear. Please park your car in a parking spot when picking up/dropping off to avoid congestion in this area.

4. Arrive a bit early for an appointment or waiting to pick your student up? We have a waiting area set up in the hall adjacent to the offices. Confidential matters generally take place in the offices so we ask that you have a seat in this area.

5. Safety and Security for all: Any time a student arrives to or leaves from campus, we ask adults to come to the office to provide that information on our form.  If you wish to be on campus ( in the cafeteria at breakfast or snack, for example, or volunteering in a classroom), we must ask that you complete the volunteer packet linked here: VolunteerPacket1.pdf. This form is also located on our District's landing site.

Additionally, when on campus for more than pick up/drop off, visitors must wear a "Visitor" badge on a lanyard (located above the sign in/sign out clipboard). We have worked to teach our students to bring problems to an adult rather than taking matters into their own hands; some of them do not recognize a visitor among our employees.

6. Help us prevent vandalism of our restrooms and of school-issued Chromebooks. Encourage your student to immediately report messes in the restroom to the main office. Chromebooks are often damaged by students removing/moving keys, dropping the device, or cracking the screen. Replacement costs are currently $300 per device. Students 12 and older who are found to have vandalized property can be cited for Criminal Mischief II or III (both misdemeanors) in addition to receiving consequences for violating District policy JFC.

7. Lastly, please check that you have an emergency contact in SYNERGY and that the information we have is accurate. There are times when a student may need to be picked up for behavior, injury, or illness.  We will always attempt contacting guardians first in such instances.

THANK YOU for trusting us with your student(s)! It is our privilege to support them in their educational journeys!

Best,

Tanya Sinko
